We Buy Surplus Wire Reels, Spools and Partial Lengths

Format matters as much as wire type. The same 500 ft of THHN is a different proposition as a sealed carton, a tidy partial reel with a legible tag, or a loose coil on the floor of a trailer. We buy all three formats, and we price them differently.

Overview

09

We take full and partial reels, wooden and metal reels, plastic spools, coils, unopened cartons, unused cut lengths and general warehouse overstock — including cancelled-project inventory, discontinued stock and material left after a plant upgrade.

Quick quote: the fastest route is a photo of the reel, a photo of the jacket print and the city or ZIP. Call +1 (614) 715-3047 if you would rather talk it through.

Condition

C

Condition, packaging and what we pass on

We quote what is usable and say plainly what is not.

Reels that have been stored indoors on a rack are the easiest. Reels that sat outside for years are still considered, but UV damage, water in the coil and rotten wooden flanges all reduce what we can offer — sometimes to scrap.

We do not promise to buy everything in a lot. If half a trailer is unusable, we will quote the usable half and tell you why the rest was excluded.

Reels, Spools and Partial Lengths from Iowa businesses

Warehouse and plant clear-outs are the biggest source of reel surplus in Iowa: a manufacturer in Marshalltown changing product lines, a distributor in Ankeny clearing discontinued colors, a contractor in Davenport consolidating three storage bays into one.

Freight economics decide how these loads move. A full truck out of Council Bluffs or Waterloo makes sense; a single partial reel usually needs to be near a route or paired with other material. Tell us the city and the volume and we will be straight about it.

Questions

E

Reels, Spools and Partial Lengths: questions sellers ask

Will you buy a single partial reel?

Sometimes, depending on the gauge and where it sits. A single 4/0 reel is easier to justify than a single 100 ft spool of #12. Send it anyway — the answer costs nothing.

How do I estimate footage without a tag?

Measure the outside diameter of the wound cable and the width of the coil, or weigh the reel and subtract the empty-reel weight. Give us either number plus the gauge and we can estimate.

Do you take the reels themselves?

Yes. Wooden and steel reels are handled with the cable, and empty returnable reels are noted separately if you want them credited.

What about a full warehouse of mixed dead stock?

That is a common request. Send a pallet-by-pallet photo set and any inventory list you have, and we will come back with a scope: what we want, what we will pass on, and how it would ship.

Still unsure whether your material fits? Call +1 (614) 715-3047 or email saleselectricalbuyers@gmail.com.

Have reels, spools or cut lengths to move?

Send the wire type, footage and a few photos. We review every request and reply with a quote or a clear no.

Tell us what you have

No obligation and no cost to ask. If the material is not a fit, we will say so plainly.
