How It Works
Five minutes on a phone, photos of what you have, and a quote or a clear no. Nothing moves until you accept.
From photos to pickup
The process is deliberately short. Most of the work happens in the first message, which is why the photos matter more than the paperwork.
-
Send the details
Wire type, gauge, voltage, footage, condition and location. Photos of the reels, jacket print, tags and wire ends. A phone photo of a reel tag is enough to start.
-
We review the material
Construction, condition, quantity and how it is stored all go into the number. If something is unclear we ask one round of questions rather than guess.
-
You get a quote or a no
Usually within one business day. The quote states the basis — wire price, scrap price, or a per-lot offer — so you can compare it to any other option.
After the quote
01
What happens if you accept
The quote is the halfway point, not the finish line.
- Pickup or freightArranged per load, agreed in advance
- AccessDock, forklift or ground level confirmed before scheduling
- LoadingBanded, palletised or reels strapped where needed
- PaymentAgreed in writing before the material moves
- PaperworkA simple record of what was collected
If you decline, nothing happens. There is no fee for a quote and no obligation to sell.

Photos
02
The four photos that speed up a quote
Phone photos are fine. Good light and a steady hand help more than a good camera.
- The reels or spools, wide. Shows volume, storage and reel type.
- The jacket print, close. Identifies construction, gauge, voltage and temperature rating.
- Any tag or label. Original footage and manufacturer, if still legible.
- The wire ends. Shows conductor condition, oxidation and whether the jacket is sealed.
Add a photo of the loading access if it is unusual — a tight driveway, a steep ramp or a low door changes how a load moves.

What we will not do
03
Straight answers, even when they are not what you hoped
We do not promise to buy every item regardless of condition, and we do not inflate an offer to win a load and renegotiate later. If half a trailer is unusable, the quote says so. If the material is better sold as scrap, we will tell you that instead of pretending it is resale stock.
We also do not buy anything outside wire and cable — no transformers, switchgear, breakers, MCCs, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery or vehicles. If your lot includes those, it is quoted on the wire only.
Questions
04
Process questions
What kind of electrical wire do you buy in Iowa?
Copper and aluminum building wire, industrial cable, service and underground cable, bare copper and grounding wire, specialty and flexible cable, and medium voltage cable from 5 kV to 69 kV and above. We buy full reels, partial reels, spools, coils, cartons and unused cut lengths.
Do you buy partial reels and small quantities?
Yes. Partial reels are the most common thing we buy. A legible footage tag helps, but we can work from a measured coil, a scale reading or a photo of the reel.
How do you price surplus wire?
Usable wire is priced as wire — by construction, gauge, footage and condition. Material that cannot be reused is priced as scrap by weight. We tell you which basis a quote uses, so the number is never a surprise.
Do you buy every item regardless of condition?
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. We review what you send and quote what is usable. If part of a lot is beyond reuse, we will say so and explain why it was excluded.

Have reels, spools or cut lengths to move?
Send the wire type, footage and a few photos. We review every request and reply with a quote or a clear no.

Photos are the fastest route to a real number. Reels, jacket print, tags and cut ends.
Tell us what you have
No obligation and no cost to ask. If the material is not a fit, we will say so plainly.
Request a quote for your surplus wire
Tell us what the wire is, how much there is and where it sits. Photos of the reels, jacket print and wire ends let us give a real number instead of a guess.
